Family vacations can be complicated. Someone wants the pool. Someone wants to bike. The little ones need a nap. The teenagers need their own space. The adults need five minutes of peace and quiet. Eagle Crest Retreat is one of the rare places that genuinely delivers on all of it at the same time.
Three bedrooms plus a loft means no one is sleeping on a cot in the hallway. The main-floor king suite is perfect for parents or grandparents. Two queen rooms are upstairs. And the loft – with its own TV, games, and a real queen sofa bed – quickly becomes the kids' domain.
Your resort guest passes include year-round access to the indoor pool, hot tub, and wading pool at Ridge Sports Center – open every day, regardless of weather. In summer, the Lakeside Sports Center and Resort Sports Center add outdoor pools, outdoor hot tubs, and a splash park for younger kids. Lakeside is a short walk or bike ride from the home and the Ridge and Resort Sports Centers are a short drive away.

Five adult/teen sized bikes and six kids' bikes of various sizes are provided with your stay, ready to go. Eagle Crest Resort has over 11 miles of marked trails through its 1,700 acres. Kids love the independence. Parents love watching them tire themselves out.
High chair, Pack 'n Play crib, children's dinnerware, integrated fireplace screen, room-darkening shades in every bedroom, white noise machines, and a smart lock check-in that doesn't require timing your arrival around a key handoff. Melissa thinks through these things so you don't have to.
Feeding a family on vacation gets expensive fast and tired kids and wait times at restaurants can be a recipe for meltdowns. The gourmet kitchen makes staying in easy, and genuinely enjoyable. A KitchenAid gas range, full cookware set, Blendtec blender, and every utensil you'd need means you have the equipment to prepare real meals, not just cereal and takeout. The dining table seats six-plus, with more seating available at the counter/breakfast bar.

Smith Rock State Park (30 min) One of Oregon's crown jewels with dramatic basalt columns rising above the Crooked River. The Misery Ridge trail is a bucket-list hike for older kids and adults. The valley floor path is manageable for younger ones. And the views are magnificent for everyone. Bring water and sunscreen.
Cline Falls State Park (5 min) A short, scenic walk along the Deschutes River. Easy, beautiful, and great for younger kids. Picnic tables, river access, and a calm pace make it an ideal place for a picnic.
Downtown Redmond (10 min) Walkable downtown with restaurants, ice cream, local shops, and a friendly small-city vibe. The Saturday Farmers Market in season is worth the trip. Faith, Hope & Charity Vineyards is under 20 minutes away and one of Central Oregon's most scenic spots for a tasting.

Downtown Sisters (15 min) One of Oregon's most beloved small towns, Sisters charms visitors with its Western-facade storefronts, locally owned boutiques, art galleries, coffee shops, and restaurants along an easily walkable main street. It's an easy and rewarding half-day trip, especially on a slower vacation day when the group wants a change of scenery without a long drive. Browse the shops, grab an ice cream, and soak in the mountain views on the way back. Don't miss the handmade fudge at The SweetEasy Co. ice cream shop and try stopping in at Sisters Meat and Smokehouse to pick up something to grill for dinner or one of their mouthwatering deli sandwiches for lunch.
Sun Mountain Fun Center (30 min) Mini golf, go-karts, bumper cars, arcade – the classic family diversion when you need a change of pace (or a bribe for the kids).
Bend (25 min) Oregon's outdoor recreation capital delivers something for every member of the family. The Deschutes River is the summer centerpiece – the Bend Whitewater Park features a surfable wave and easy riverside trails, while inner tubing the river between Sunriver and Bend is a classic Central Oregon summer tradition that kids and adults love equally. For a more guided adventure, several outfitters run half-day rafting trips that are accessible for families. Away from the river, the Old Mill District has kid-friendly dining, a riverside lawn perfect for an afternoon, and easy access to the Deschutes River Trail for walking or biking. Drake Park downtown is great for younger kids and the Les Schwab Amphitheater hosts concerts and events throughout the summer. And of course, Bend takes its craft beer seriously – the Deschutes Brewery original taproom is a pilgrimage worth making once the kids are settled for the evening.
Mt. Bachelor (55 min) In winter, one of Oregon's premier ski destinations. In summer, the scenic chairlift and mountain biking draw families for a different kind of adventure.

"I've set up this home with families in mind at every step – from the Pack 'n Play and high chair for the littlest guest to the games and bikes for the older ones. The resort passes are something I purchase and include for every stay because I want your family to have the full Eagle Crest experience, not just the house. If you have specific needs or questions before your trip, I'm responsive and happy to help."
